Job summary

RES is seeking a Field Expert Technician (Offshore, Fire Systems) to deliver O&M services to offshore renewable assets from home or site locations in the UK. You will handle electrical and mechanical work, perform maintenance, and support competency through risk assessments and safety compliance.

A background in offshore wind and fire suppression is essential, with driving license and height tolerance required.

Qualifications

• Experience in the offshore wind industry.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, power electronics, and hydraulic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with fire suppression systems.
• Experience with transmission systems.
• Experience working at height (desirable).
• An NVQ 3 or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• GWO Training desirable; full training provided.
• IRATA or rigging qualification desirable.
• Hold a full driving license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver onshore and offshore electrical and mechanical work.
• Perform inspection and planned maintenance of assets.
• Provide reactive maintenance at short notice.
• Produce risk assessments and method statements.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and reporting.
• Manage site works and monitor contractor performance.
• Draft inputs into proposals and cost books.
