Job summary

HSB Technical Ltd. seeks a Senior FFE Service Technician to service, inspect, test and commission marine fire suppression systems on vessels, offshore facilities, and shipyards. The role requires travel across the UK and internationally, with a permanent, full-time contract.

The candidate should have experience with fixed gaseous suppression, SOLAS compliance, and strong diagnostic/reporting skills, plus a full UK driving licence and willingness to work offshore when required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing marine fire suppression systems.
• Strong knowledge of SOLAS and marine safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect, test, commission and repair marine fixed fire suppression systems.
• Work on CO2, FM-200, Novec 1230, water mist, foam, wet and dry chemical and galley suppression systems.
• Carry out annual, intermediate and periodic inspections per SOLAS, IMO and manufacturer requirements.
• Conduct cylinder weighing, pressure testing and hydrostatic testing arrangements.
• Diagnose faults and undertake corrective maintenance and repair activities.
• Complete commissioning activities for newly installed fire suppression systems.
• Service and inspect portable extinguishers, hoses, nozzles and related safety equipment.
• Inspect life-saving appliances and safety gear.
• Prepare accurate service reports and certificates.
• Ensure compliance with SOLAS, IMO codes and Classification Society Rules.
