Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join our UK fire safety team and contribute to a growing portfolio of high-impact projects. You will deliver evidence-based fire safety solutions for clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across more than 20 offices.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, and a track record of obtaining design approvals. A Chartered Engineer status is preferred and a hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in fire engineering or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Experience in a fire engineering consultancy or similar environment.
• Extensive experience delivering evidence-based fire safety solutions for UK projects.
• Knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Ability to lead client and stakeholder meetings and communicate complex fire safety concepts.
• Familiar with RIBA Plan of Work or GRIP.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fire safety engineering services for clients as part of Arup's fire safety team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices.
• Lead project teams and manage budgets.
• Contribute to cutting-edge fire safety research and tool development.
• Engage with authorities to obtain design approvals.
