Job summary

Arup is seeking Fire Engineers to join our UK team to deliver high-impact fire safety engineering for diverse projects, from cultural renovations to complex new builds.

As a senior member of the fire safety practice, you will lead client meetings, manage project teams and budgets, and apply evidence-based design to achieve safe, compliant outcomes. Chartered Engineer status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in fire engineering or related field is required.
• Chartered Engineer status is preferred or close to achieving it.
• Experience in fire engineering consultancy for UK projects is essential.
• Knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance is expected.
• Ability to lead client meetings and explain technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with RIBA Plan of Work or similar design frameworks (GRIP) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fire safety engineering services for clients.
• Lead and mentor project teams across a multidisciplinary environment.
• Manage client meetings, scope, budgets and schedules.
• Collaborate with Arup’s fire safety network across multiple offices.
