Job summary

Join AECOM as a Senior Fire Engineer to lead a local fire team, applying robust CFD and evacuation modelling across multiple sectors in the UK. Collaborate with office leads, provide mentorship, and grow professionally within a well-established safety consultancy.

You will oversee projects from inception to completion, contribute to cost estimation, and work within a flexible hybrid model designed to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or professional qualification.
• Demonstrable experience in a range of sectors and technical fire engineering applications with a focus on UK regulations and markets.
• Experience managing fire engineering aspects of small to medium design projects within timescales and budgets.
• Experience guiding junior engineers.
• Experience preparing fee proposals and task variations for fire engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver from inception through to completion with minimal senior oversight, CFD modelling, evacuation modelling and other analytical fire engineering.
• Manage design projects, prepare and review the work of others.
• Demonstrable experience across sectors with emphasis on UK regs and markets.
• Develop approaches to solve new problems using standard or prior methods.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Lead the development of accurate cost estimates for technical efforts.
