Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Fire Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. This hybrid role can be based in London, Manchester, Bath, or Edinburgh, offering diverse, high-profile projects and opportunities to grow within a global consultancy.

You will work on complex fire engineering solutions for iconic buildings, develop design strategies, perform calculations, and collaborate with architects and other engineers to deliver safe, sustainable designs.

Qualifications

• Higher education qualification in engineering or fire safety.
• Proven experience delivering fire and life-safety designs for UK projects.
• Ability to obtain agreement for prescriptive and performance-based design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Project manage fire engineering projects with the team.
• Inform and support building design aspirations throughout the process.
• Engage with clients and provide consultancy on projects.
• Monitor financial performance including invoicing and budgets.
• Represent the fire engineering team in meetings with design teams.
• Identify appropriate fixed fire protection systems and perform calculations.
