Job summary

ASOS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our FinOps team in London. You will own significant parts of the FinOps platform end to end, building data pipelines and guardrails to expose cost and usage to hundreds of engineers and Finance.

You will collaborate with Product Delivery Teams and Finance to quantify impact, shape architecture, and drive cost-aware decisions. This role emphasizes engineering excellence with tangible savings and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Senior software engineer with ownership of end-to-end FinOps platform.
• Experience building data pipelines for cost visibility.
• Strong collaboration with Finance and Product Delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver data products to make Azure cost visible across ASOS.
• Own the cost and usage data platform on Databricks ingesting Azure Cost Management exports, reservation data and tagging metadata.
• Build Power BI semantic models behind cost reporting with DAX measures and DirectQuery models.
• Lead optimisation across the estate including right-sizing, autoscaling, and data transfer patterns.
• Own reserved capacity and Savings Plan strategy in partnership with Finance.
• Establish tagging and allocation policy, Azure Policy, budget controls and reporting.
• Develop unit economics connecting spend to value to measure business impact.
• Engage with Product Delivery Teams to influence architectures and decisions.
