Job summary

ASOS.com Ltd in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the FinOps team. You will own significant parts of the cost-visibility platform, build cost and usage pipelines, and implement guardrails that keep the estate tidy by default.

You will lead design and implementation of data products for Azure cost visibility, model cost savings, and collaborate with Product Delivery Teams to shape cost-aware architectures. This is a hands-on engineering role with strategic impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver data products that make Azure cost visible and attributable across ASOS.
• Own the cost and usage data platform on Databricks and model datasets trusted by engineering and Finance.
• Build and own Power BI semantic models for cost reporting with code-managed definitions.
• Lead optimisation work across the estate and quantify savings with evidence.
• Partner with Finance on Savings Plan strategy and forecasting against usage patterns.
• Set guardrails for cost hygiene, including tagging, policy, budgets and anomaly reporting.
• Develop unit economics linking spend to value and inform engineering decisions.
• Engage Product Delivery Teams as primary customers, shaping architectures and trade-offs.
• Shape technical direction for FinOps engineering and mentor others.
• Collaborate with Finance to explain movements in spend and support budgeting.
