Job summary

ASOS is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data pipelines and platform components in a cloud-based environment. You will collaborate with various product teams to enhance data accessibility and quality, ensuring robust and standardized data solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Azure, Python, and Scala, and be skilled in modern data engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Data Engineer building scalable data platforms.
• Deep expertise in Azure (ADF, ADLS, Databricks).
• Proficiency in Python and/or Scala (PySpark/Spark) for large-scale data processing.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Delta Lake.
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle (ingestion to transformation to serving).

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and Scala in Azure.
• Develop reusable data engineering templates and frameworks.
• Drive standardisation across data ingestion and transformation processes.
• Enable delivery of high-quality datasets by providing guidance.
• Implement modern data engineering practices including CI/CD.
