Job description

Established Lloyds Insurer is currently searching for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their FP&A team in London. You will report directly to the FP&A Manager joining a team of 4, who are responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial information and insight to support the business. This is an ideal opportunity for an Insurance FP&A candidate who is looking to move into a more business partnering focused FP&A role.


Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for preparing the annual financial plan and budget for the Group, liaising with senior management and stakeholders across the wider business, and delivering the consolidated & IFRS 17 business plans to the Board and to Head Office.
  2. Key business partner with stakeholders across underwriting and operations to ensure that relevant, timely and accurate financial MI is communicated and understood.
  3. Challenge the financial results of the Group and ensure senior stakeholders are appraised of the Group's performance in addition to identifying areas of improvement.
  4. Prepare MI, analytical review and commentary supporting the plan and forecast results.
  5. Preparation of the syndicate forecasts, including those included in the Lloyd's Syndicate Business Forecast.
  6. Preparation of Board papers which report quarterly on the performance of the Group.
  7. Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team.
  8. Act as first layer of review on work produced by junior members of team.
  9. Continually challenge practice and processes to ensure they meet best practice and changing requirements.

Requirements:
  1. Currently working in a FP&A/FBP role for a Lloyds Insurer - Essential
  2. Candidates with Management Reporting experience for a Lloyds Insurer will also be considered.
  3. Qualified accountant with post qualified experience (ACA or CIMA preferred) - Essential
  4. Good understanding of Lloyd's and London Market insurance.
  5. Proven experience of presenting financial results to senior stakeholders
  6. Ability to identify and initiate areas of process improvements
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
  8. Good Excel and system skills, prior experience of Anaplan & Adaptive Planning systems (desirable).
  9. Strong academic background - minimum 2:1 Degree
