Zusammenfassung

Chalk Hill Group is seeking a qualified, hands-on Financial Controller to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function for an established, owner‑managed business near Poole.

Reporting to the Leadership Team, you will oversee financial reporting, cash flow, banking, VAT, payroll and year-end preparation, while managing an Accounts Assistant and providing timely financial information to senior management.

Qualifikationen

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in an SME or owner‑managed business, with a practical, hands‑on approach.
• Strong knowledge of management accounts, VAT, payroll, cash flow and financial controls.
• Experience managing transactional finance and supervising accounts staff.

Aufgaben

• Prepare monthly management accounts, reporting packs and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, banking, payment runs and financial controls.
• Oversee VAT returns, payroll, HMRC submissions and year‑end preparation.
• Supervise ledgers, credit control and online payment reconciliations.
• Liaise with external accountants and oversee statutory reporting preparation.
• Manage and develop the Accounts Assistant, improving processes and efficiencies.
• Provide financial analysis to support business planning, cost control and commercial decisions.
