Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller for a well-established SME in West Yorkshire. You will lead the finance function, report to the business leader, and work closely with group finance to manage all financial activities across the business.

The role offers broad exposure, involvement in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and process improvements, with scope to influence decision making and drive financial performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in stand-alone Finance Manager, Company Accountant or Financial Controller roles.
• ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualification preferred; qualified by experience considered.
• Proactive and hands-on approach with ownership of the function.
• Strong Excel and systems skills for analysis and reporting.
• Capable of operating independently and influencing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and assist group reporting.
• Support financial consolidations and year-end processes.
• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers and payroll processing.
• Manage cash flow on daily/weekly basis and forecast variance.
• Contribute to budgeting/forecasting processes and financial analysis.
• Review and improve financial controls and procedures.
• Streamline finance processes and reporting for efficiency.
• Provide insights to management to aid decision making.

Description

• Manage and oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Supporting group reporting requirements and financial consolidations.
• Assisting with year-end processes.
• Managing purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
• Processing and ownership of payroll.
• Daily and weekly cash flow management and forecasting.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Providing financial analysis and performance insights to management.
• Reviewing and improving financial controls and procedures.
• Streamlining finance processes and reporting.

Profile

• Previous experience in a standalone Finance Manager, Company Accountant or Financial Controller position.
