Job summary

Randstad Financial & Professional seeks a high-calibre Financial Controller to lead its back-office General Ledger function for the UK & Ireland division. You will advise on accounting integrity, drive improvements, and orchestrate automation and digital analytics initiatives across the ERP platform.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification with strong Record-to-Report, balance sheet management, and month-end close experience in a complex corporate environment. UK-based applicants only.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with strong accounting principles.
• Proven experience in Record-to-Report, balance sheet management, and month-end close in a complex setup.
• Knowledge of internal controls, risk management and governance with BlackLine exposure preferred.
• Experience leading teams, resource planning, and change management.
• Tech-savvy with ERP, data analytics, and process automation to improve reporting.
• Strong communication and ability to influence senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own General Ledger and Balance Sheet across the division's ERP; oversee governance, reconciliations and balance sheet certification.
• Lead, coach, and develop the General Ledger team and resource deployment.
• Drive efficient month-/quarter-/year-end closes with timely, quality reporting.
• Act as Centre of Excellence, streamline processes and implement automation, AI and analytics.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and lead internal/external audits.
• Build cross-functional relationships and drive standardisation across segments.
