Job summary

GMP Recruitment are supporting an established engineering firm in Worcester to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. The post holder will lead the finance function, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting and commercial insight for strategic decisions.

Reporting to the UK Finance Director, you will manage monthly close, budgeting, cash flow and financial systems, while developing the finance team and partnering with production and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role within engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience in manufacturing costs, stock control, WIP and margins analysis.
• Proven ability to lead a finance team and develop capex business cases.
• Strong reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management skills.
• Qualified professional with ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the finance department and report to UK Finance Director.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and banking relationships.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Coordinate external audit and statutory accounts preparation.
