Job description

A quick look at the role

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for accounting and management reporting for operational sites across the South of England. The role works closely with operational management teams to drive business performance and ensure robust financial controls are in place.

Your core responsibilities

1. Oversee the development of robust financial plans, including annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
2. Ensure the regions are provided with appropriate reports, metrics, and performance indicators, and distribute information in a timely manner.
3. Deliver monthly regional reporting, including management accounts with variance analysis, and compile reports for review.
4. Conduct operational benchmarking and variance analyses to understand financial performance and identify improvement areas. Review performance with Operations and develop the regional teams' commercial awareness.
5. Implement and maintain the Group's financial control policies, including site controls, compliance, balance sheet reviews, and internal audit actions.
6. Support business leaders with investment appraisals, providing challenge, benchmarking, realistic assumptions, and risk mitigation.
7. Attend Regional Fleet Manager calls in South UK to present and build relationships with RFMs and workshop managers.
8. Visit operational sites to provide financial reviews.

Our essential requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
• Experience supporting operational colleagues
• Management accounting experience in service, logistics, or waste industries is advantageous

• Strong system skills including advanced Excel, Power BI, and preferably Microsoft Dynamics
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
