The Works Stores Ltd. is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Financial Reporting team at our Coleshill head office. You will own key technical accounting areas, including IFRS 16, IFRS 9 and IAS 36, and support interim and annual reporting with external auditors.

You will oversee month-end activities, stock, property and capex reporting, and mentor junior team members while driving accuracy and timeliness across all outputs.

Competenze

• Experience with complex accounting areas (IFRS 16, IFRS 9, IAS 36).
• Strong accounting judgement and ability to liaise with external auditors.
• Ability to lead month-end activities and balance sheet reviews.

Mansioni

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting and month-end activities.
• Take ownership of the Group's complex technical accounting areas including IFRS 16, IFRS 9 and IAS 36, including preparation of supporting calculations, papers and disclosures.
• Support assessment and documentation of significant accounting judgements and estimates.
• Act as a key contact for external auditors, coordinating requests and supporting interim reviews and year-end audits.
• Lead the preparation of interim and annual financial statements and subsidiary accounts.
• Oversee complex month-end journals, reconciliations and balance sheet positions.
• Take ownership of stock, property and capex balance sheet and related P&L lines.
• Review work by junior team members, providing coaching and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with Financial Processing to improve cost understanding and controls.
• Analyze monthly results, investigate variances and liaise with Commercial Finance and operations.
