Job summary

The Works Stores Ltd. invites applications for a Financial Accountant. Based in the Hybrid setup with 1-2 days in our Support Centre and 3-4 days at home each week, you will join the Financial Reporting team as deputy to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager.

You will own IFRS 16/9 and IAS 36 accounting areas, prepare statutory papers, and support interim and annual reporting. You will lead complex month-end processes and mentor junior staff to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• 3+ years post-qualification experience in financial reporting.
• Experience supporting statutory audits and annual report disclosures.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 16, IFRS 9 and IAS 36.
• Experience reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end activities.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and governance.
• Ability to coach juniors and review work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and month-end close.
• Own complex technical accounting areas (IFRS 16/9, IAS 36).
• Support judgement documentation and estimates.
• Coordinate with external auditors for interim and year-end audits.
• Lead preparation of interim and annual financial statements.
• Review complex month-end journals and reconciliations.
• Oversee stock, property and capex balance sheet and related P&L lines.
• Develop junior team members through coaching and QA.
• Collaborate with Finance and operations on costs and controls.
