The Works Stores Ltd is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Reporting team as deputy to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager. You will deliver high-quality financial reporting, lead IFRS 16/IFRS 9/IAS 36 work, and support interim and year-end reporting for the Group.

You will manage month-end activities, oversee stock and capex balances, review junior staff work, and partner with external auditors to strengthen controls and governance.

Competenze

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• At least 3 years post-qualified experience in financial reporting in industry, retail preferred.
• Experience supporting statutory audits and annual report disclosures, preferably for listed companies.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 16, IFRS 9 and IAS 36; ability to prepare technical accounting papers.
• Experience reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and complex month-end activities.
• Strong financial controls and governance practices; able to coach junior staff.

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting and month-end activities.
• Take ownership of IFRS 16, IFRS 9 and IAS 36, including supporting calculations and disclosures.
• Support assessment and documentation of significant accounting judgements and estimates.
• Act as a key contact for external auditors during interim reviews and year-end audits.
• Lead interim and annual financial statements preparation and group reporting.
• Review complex month-end journals, reconciliations and balance sheet positions.
• Oversee stock, property and capex balance sheet; mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with Commercial Finance to improve cost understanding and controls.
