Job summary

Kroo Bank Ltd is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own key month end and year end close processes, maintain robust balance sheet controls and drive improvements in financial reporting. You will work with Finance, Treasury, Risk and Operations to ensure accurate accounting for loans, deposits and other products.

The role requires a qualified accountant with 2–3 years in banking, strong IFRS knowledge, and a proactive approach to automation and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Experience in banking with financial accounting, reporting or financial control responsibilities (2–3 years).
• Strong understanding of IFRS in a banking environment.
• Experience with month end and year end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Background in financial services audit would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage key elements of the month end and year end close processes.
• Prepare financial reporting, management information and supporting analysis.
• Maintain and enhance financial accounting processes and controls.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for loans, deposits, derivatives and other instruments.
• Support impairment assessments and loan loss provisioning.
• Prepare technical accounting papers and document accounting judgements.
• Implement accounting and financial control processes for new products and initiatives.
• Assist with external audit, internal audit and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Drive automation to improve reporting, reconciliations, controls and month end efficiency.
