Job summary

ClearBank Ltd is seeking a mid-level Financial Control Accountant to join a small, hands-on team. You will contribute to the month-end close, support core financial control activities, and ensure the general ledger is accurate and well-supported.

Reporting to the Financial Control Manager, you will handle journals, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and regulatory reporting while driving scalable processes and control improvements across the function.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Strong financial accounting and control experience in regulated financial services.
• Experience managing month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and GL controls.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and applying accounting standards.
• Experience supporting complex accounting areas with analyses and documentation.
• Strong governance, controls and audit requirements understanding.
• Proven ability to lead process improvements.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial analysis capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Own allocated month-end close activities, delivered accurately and on time.
• Prepare, review and approve general ledger journals with proper support.
• Own revenue and expense analysis and communicate variances to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with FP&A to identify accruals and adjustments.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and resolve items.
• Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate support.
• Oversee capitalisation and amortisation for intangible assets.
• Document non-automated entries with audit trails and controls.
• Drive scalable processes and automate where possible.
• Support management, regulatory, statutory and tax reporting.
