Job summary

Weaver Vale Housing Trust, Gadbrook Point, Rudheath Way, Northwich, is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner. This role leads treasury, budgeting, forecasting and management accounting, partnering with Development and Lettings to drive financial governance and value.

The successful candidate will oversee cash flow, regulatory returns and financial modelling, providing strategic insight to support decisions while ensuring timely month-end and year-end processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part qualified accountant with experience.
• Four years of relevant Finance experience.
• Strong IT and systems skills.
• Experience of Business Partnering with teams across a business to deliver results and stay within budget.
• Experience in Budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience in Treasury, regulatory returns and cash flow.
• Experience with developments and capitalisation.
• Experience of Business Planning.
• An ability to convey complex finance information to people outside of finance.
• Excellent organisation skills and ability to multitask.
• Continuous improvement and innovation to improve efficiency of processes.
• A strong communicator who can build strong relationships across the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Treasury team and ensure strong reporting, cash flow monitoring, covenant compliance and regulatory returns.
• Provide operational and strategic financial support to Developments and Lettings.
• Act as a key link between Finance and operational teams, helping colleagues understand financial performance and make informed decisions.
• Support on Business Planning and the FFR.
• Lead budget setting, business planning, forecasting and financial reporting for relevant departments.
• Support month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accurate financial information is delivered to agreed timescales.
• Work closely with budget holders to monitor performance, understand variances and identify opportunities to improve value for money.
• Support the Development team, including cash flow reviews, appraisals analysis, contractor due diligence, fixed asset records and grant reporting.
• Support on the financial statements, audit processes, finance systems development and wider continuous improvement projects.
• Provide constructive financial advice, challenge and insight to strengthen financial governance, risk management and decision-making.
