Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial support to a major programme worth over £50 million. You will work with senior leaders to deliver clear financial insight, robust planning and effective control, while driving performance and programme delivery.

You will be the main finance contact for your unit, lead budgeting and forecasting, and ensure timely, accurate reporting and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or equivalent.
• Strong track record in finance business partnering with senior leaders.
• Experience managing multimillion‑pound projects with costing and forecasting.
• Knowledge of project controls, revenue recognition and grant accounting.
• Experience with major contract or grant audits and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main finance contact for your programme or business unit.
• Analyse financial performance and produce management reports and forecasts.
• Lead financial input into strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Provide accurate financial reports for major grants within deadlines.
• Ensure expenditure and revenue are recognised per policy.
• Maintain reconciliations and audit documentation.
• Coordinate programme audits and respond to audit requirements.
• Provide financial leadership and coaching to project teams.
• Lead and develop finance colleagues where applicable.
• Support improvements to financial processes and reporting systems.
