Job summary

Tony Alan Recruitment is seeking an Associate Director for Finance Shared Services based in Preston. You will lead the Finance Operations across AP, AR, Payroll, Expenses and Payments, driving a major transformation program.

The role is senior and strategic, focusing on modernising processes, harnessing automation, self-service and AI, and maximising the value of Workday and related finance technologies for a growing organisation.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience delivering large-scale finance operations and shared services.
• Experience delivering process improvement and business transformation in finance.
• Ability to implement or maximise ERP/finance technologies, ideally Workday.
• Introducing automation, self-service and digitally enabled ways of working.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders at executive level.

Responsibilities

• Leading the Finance Operations function across AP, AR, Payroll, Expenses and Payments.
• Developing and delivering the long-term Finance Operations and transformation strategy.
• Improving the experience and service provided to internal and external stakeholders.
• Driving process improvement, standardisation and simplification.
• Leading digital transformation, including automation, workflow, self-service and AI.
• Maximising the value of Workday and associated finance technologies.
• Ensuring processes are scalable, efficient, well controlled and compliant.
• Providing strong oversight of financial governance, audit readiness and data integrity.
• Managing complex stakeholder relationships and acting as a senior escalation point.
• Leading, developing and motivating a high-performing team.
