Job summary

Speedy Hire invites applications for Head of Finance Shared Services to lead transactional finance and the Shared Services operation in Haydock. This senior role oversees AR, Credit, AP, Payroll and Cash & Banking, ensuring strong controls and efficient processing while driving standardisation and automation.

You will build a high-performing team, set KPIs, partner with Sales and Operations, and deliver improved cash generation and working capital.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in Finance Shared Services or transactional finance.
Strong leadership across multiple transactional finance disciplines.
Knowledge of AR, Credit Management and AP, plus Payroll and Cash & Banking.
Proven track record improving cash collection, aged debt and working capital.
Understanding of financial controls, governance, risk and compliance.
Experience setting KPIs, SLAs and performance frameworks in Shared Services.
Experience leading digital transformation.
Strong ERP and financial systems knowledge; automation tools advantageous.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management.
Coaching and development style for high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

Lead, develop and retain a high-performing Finance Shared Services team.
Develop and implement a Shared Services strategy that is scalable and customer-focused.
Take overall leadership for AR, Credit Management, AP, Payroll and Cash & Banking.
Establish KPIs and SLAs across Shared Services to drive improvements.
Lead AR and Credit Control to improve cash collection and working capital.
Partner with Sales and Operations to manage debt exposure.
Oversee customer credit risk and bad debt mitigation.
Ensure supplier invoices and payments are processed accurately.
Ensure timely payroll delivery with strong controls and compliance.
Oversee cash and banking activities and reconciliations.
Maintain robust financial controls and mitigate risks.
Drive standardisation and automation of end-to-end processes.
Champion digital transformation and technology use.
Support month-end and year-end reporting and audits.
Provide senior management with insights into performance and risks.
Support Velocity programme and process adoption.
