Venn Group is recruiting a Senior Finance Officer for an NHS organisation in Manchester on a temporary basis. The role is hybrid, with 37.5 hours per week and ASAP start, focusing on resolving legacy finance issues and supporting key financial decisions across multiple systems.

You will apply CA-level expertise to lead investigations, reconcile complex data, and work with diverse teams to strengthen controls and reporting in a large NHS finance environment.

Qualifications

Venn Group's specialist finance recruitment team is recruiting for a Senior Finance Officer on behalf of an NHS organisation in Manchester. This temporary opportunity offers the chance to play a key role within an NHS finance team, leading on complex financial issues, resolving legacy challenges and supporting financial decision-making across multiple systems.

The role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the investigation and resolution of complex legacy finance issues
• Analysing financial data across multiple systems to identify discrepancies and implement solutions
• Supporting financial decision-making within delegated authority levels
• Providing expertise and guidance on complex finance queries and system issues
• Performing detailed reconciliations and financial reviews to ensure data accuracy
• Working closely with finance, operational and commissioning teams to resolve issues and improve processes
• Identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, improve reporting and enhance financial processes

About you

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent)
• Strong finance experience within a NHS organisation
• Experience investigating and resolving complex financial issues
