Job summary

Ryft Pay Ltd is seeking a Senior Finance Manager in Manchester to own the month-end close, ensure balance sheet integrity and lead a small finance team. You will drive process improvements, automate where possible and partner with the Financial Controller on year-end, VAT, and audits.

You will manage the close timetable, produce management packs, and maintain strong internal controls in a fast‑growing FCA-regulated payments business.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with strong technical accounting foundation.
• Demonstrated ownership of a month-end close and management accounts pack.
• Experience in high-volume transactional environments with large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close and management reporting.
• Own the month-end timetable end to end with increasing volumes and complexity.
• Prepare and review the monthly management accounts pack for review by senior finance leaders.
• Review journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations for accuracy.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity with timely reconciliations and control reviews.
• Collaborate with client funds and reconciliations teams to reflect positions in the ledger.
• Oversee purchase, sales, expenses and payroll journals with documented controls.
• Design and implement scalable processes; remove manual steps and automate where possible.
• Support VAT, year-end and audit with accurate schedules; contribute to budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead and develop the finance team, setting standards and providing technical escalation.
