Join us as a Senior Finance Manager at Costain Group PLC

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious finance professional with a background in technical accounting, seeking to advance their career within a FTSE listed construction business known for delivering high-profile infrastructure projects.

Role Overview:

This position is pivotal within the technical accounting team, involving thought leadership on key accounting and financial control projects, as well as coordination of the external audit process. You will lead the consolidation and disclosure of group and subsidiary results, deputize for the Head of Technical Accounting, and provide daily technical support to the business.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments including SSC, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Divisional Finance, Investor Relations, Cosec, and Legal. This role offers exposure to senior management and opportunities for further career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical accounting and consolidation teams, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting.
• Prepare and review quarterly legal entity consolidation packs and perform trend analyses.
• Review financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and the Companies Act.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to deliver high-quality audit outputs.
• Produce technical accounting papers and support the development of the company's accounting manual.
• Manage ad hoc finance projects and drive process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 5 years' relevant experience.
• Experience in a senior technical accounting role within a large corporation or audit practice.
• Deep understanding of IFRS standards, especially IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 9, IFRS 7, IFRS 2, IAS 33, IAS 24.
• Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
