Job summary

Search Consultancy LTD in Leeds is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead and develop a finance team while gaining hands-on experience across the full spectrum of transactional finance. You will delegate tasks, manage workloads, and ensure accurate reconciliations and timely financial reporting.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and at least one year post-qualified experience, with a track record of leadership and a proactive mindset for process improvement.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (essential)
• Proven experience delegating tasks and managing staff workloads
• Experience working in a professional finance environment
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• At least one year post-qualified experience
• Confidence in board-level interactions (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Delegate and oversee staff responsibilities across the finance team, ensuring workloads are distributed effectively
• Manage task allocation and prioritisation, coaching junior team members to deliver against deadlines
• Oversee purchase/sales ledgers, cash books, loan schedules and ensure accurate reconciliations
• Maintain accruals, prepayments & amortisation schedules
• Prepare management accounts, including budget variance analysis
• Lead VAT & CIS return submissions
• Supervise invoice processing & cash book maintenance
• Manage statutory accounts, audits & financial reporting
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors & key stakeholders
• Present finance reports to shareholders & board members
• Act as a point of escalation for the team, delegating tasks and monitoring progress to ensure deadlines are met
