Your new company
Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a leading top 40 international law firm seeking an experienced Senior Finance Assistant familiar with the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounts Rules. You will support the finance team with legal cashiering, including inter-account transfers, advising fee earners on accounting procedures, reconciliations, purchase ledger, and month-end processes.
Your new role
Your duties include processing client and office account transactions in compliance with SRA regulations, conducting transfers, managing purchase ledger invoices and payments, liaising with clients regarding credit cards, and assisting with month-end procedures. You will guide fee earners and assistants on accounting procedures, support their client work with financial information, perform bank reconciliations, and handle queries from clients, banks, and institutions.
As an experienced senior finance clerk/legal cashier, you will suggest improvements for efficiency, help implement new systems, build relationships with fee earners and assistants, and collaborate on billing, credit control, and working capital management.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven legal cashier experience, a solid educational background, and an accounting qualification (AAT or ILFM Dip) or actively pursuing one. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential.
What you'll get in return
A salary of £26,000 - £30,000 depending on experience, with flexible hybrid working up to 50% from home after probation. For more details, contact Andy Jarman.
