Job summary

FOLIO, a London-based interior design studio, is seeking an experienced designer to lead FF&E schemes on luxury hospitality and hotel projects, from concept through procurement, installation and final styling. You will select furniture, textiles, lighting, artwork and window treatments, and develop bespoke pieces with specialist makers.

You will oversee presentations, specifications and schedules, review quotations and prototypes, manage budgets and deadlines, and mentor junior designers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of FF&E experience on luxury hotel/hospitality projects across the full lifecycle.
• Knowledge of contract-grade furniture, textiles, materials and supplier networks.
• Experience developing bespoke furniture for hospitality settings and understanding of craftsmanship and production at scale.
• Ability to build layered schemes reflecting setting, architecture, brand and guest experience.
• Experience preparing FF&E specifications, schedules, procurement information and budgets.
• Strong presentation skills to hotel operators, owners and brand teams; coordination with suppliers and consultants.
• Excellent organisational skills and mentoring junior designers.

Job description

Strong hand-sketching skills, with the ability to communicate design ideas, bespoke pieces and details quickly by hand.

Position:

Working closely with the Directors, Associates and interior design team, you will lead FF&E schemes on the studio’s luxury hospitality and hotel projects, from concept through to procurement, installation and final styling. This includes selecting furniture, textiles, decorative lighting, artwork, accessories and window treatments, as well as developing bespoke pieces with specialist makers. You will oversee presentations, specifications and schedules, review quotations, samples and prototypes, and manage budgets and deadlines. Alongside presenting to clients and attending supplier and site visits, you will guide junior designers and ensure the FF&E complements the wider interior scheme. A thoughtful design approach, strong delivery experience and confidence leading projects and supporting others will be essential.

Candidate:

• A minimum of 8 years’ professional experience, with a portfolio showing FF&E delivery on luxury hotel and hospitality projects across the full project lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of contract-grade furniture, textiles, materials and specialist suppliers, including fire, durability and commercial compliance standards
• Experience developing bespoke furniture and decorative pieces for hospitality settings, with an understanding of craftsmanship, production and manufacturing at scale
• An ability to build layered schemes that reflect the setting, architecture, brand and guest experience
• Confidence preparing and reviewing FF&E specifications, schedules, procurement information and budgets, including room type matrices and mock-up rooms
• Clear communication skills and experience presenting to hotel operators, owners and brand teams, and coordinating with suppliers, procurement agents and consultants
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail and a collaborative approach to mentoring junior designers

This London-based interior design studio works on prime residenital and luxury hospitality projects in the UK and overseas. The team offers a collaborative environment with close involvement from senior leadership, alongside opportunities for professional development and progression.
