Job summary

Newham Council is seeking a Senior Facilities Officer to oversee building services at Folkestone Road Depot. The role covers porterage, admin, access control and procurement, with a focus on safe, efficient site operations and responsive service to occupiers.

The post requires managing a small team, coordinating rotas and repairs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards on a large site. This is an on-site role with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Sound experience delivering high quality services to building occupiers.
• Good knowledge of managing buildings from a health and safety perspective.
• Solid understanding of Council Services to manage queries quickly and efficiently.
• Experience managing a team, including rotas, performance and development.

Responsibilities

• Porterage and delivery services.
• Meeting/training room set up and clearance.
• General building administration duties.
• Managing access control including production/amendment/deletion of ID cards for staff.
• Raising Purchase orders.
• Raising help calls for repairs and maintenance via correct channels.
• Dealing with building-related issues in the first instance.
• Conducting daily inspections to identify urgent repairs and safety issues.
• Liaising with occupiers to update on job progress.
• Procurement of building materials and equipment for in-house repairs.
