Job summary

Royal High Bath is seeking a skilled Caretaker / Senior Facilities Officer to join the Estates Team. The role is full time, permanent, and involves hands-on maintenance, site security, safety checks and support for capital projects.

You will coordinate day-to-day work, supervise colleagues, and bring practical experience in caretaking, plumbing, and carpentry. The GDST environment offers extensive benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities, estates or maintenance.
• Experience supervising or organising the work of others.
• Practical experience in caretaking, plumbing and carpentry/joinery.
• Working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Willingness to undertake relevant qualifications (IOSH/MIDAS).

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repairs across a busy school site.
• Oversee site security and access control.
• Conduct health and safety checks, fire and compliance testing.
• Manage grounds maintenance and building services.
• Support events, lettings, and capital project activity.
• Carry out vehicle checks and assist with renovations.
