Job summary

AD TALENT RECRUITMENT represents an established independent school seeking a reliable Maintenance and Caretaking Operative to join its Estates Team. This permanent, full-time role involves hands-on repairs, safety checks, room setups and grounds care at multiple site locations.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, from basic plumbing and carpentry to building security, with occasional overtime. A full UK driving licence is required and a practical, adaptable approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have practical maintenance experience and good judgement.
• Ability to prioritise urgent work and manage time effectively.
• Physically able to lift equipment, use ladders and work outdoors.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day repairs and general maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and provide safe solutions.
• Basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry and minor electrical tasks.
• Maintain doors, locks, windows, flooring and fittings.
• Support events, deliveries, and equipment moves.
• Update maintenance jobs using a smartphone or computer.
