Job summary

RECRUITMENT HELPLINE is seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor in Bradford to oversee workshops, welding and site activities. This hands-on leadership role includes coordinating labour, ensuring on-time production, and supporting procurement and admin tasks.

The ideal candidate will have proven fabrication/welding experience, strong safety focus and the ability to plan workflows while communicating effectively with teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fabrication/welding workshop or manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory or management responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures and quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical/fabrication drawings.
• Health & Safety awareness and ability to enforce safe systems of work.
• Leadership, organisational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with team, management and clients.
• Ability to plan and coordinate labour, materials and production priorities.
• Good basic IT skills and ability to assist with procurement and general office tasks.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day workshop operations to meet production schedules.
• Convert orders into production priorities and handovers.
• Monitor staff output and progress against programmes and delivery dates.
• Oversee cutting, drilling, fabrication, welding, painting, galvanising, yard operations.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure fabrication and welding work is of required quality.
• Identify missing materials or information that could delay production.
• Plan to reduce rework and avoid late deliveries through planning and communication.
• Coordinate with management, workshop staff, clients and suppliers.
• Ensure safe working practices are followed across workshop, yard and site activities.
• Assist with procurement, stock control and general materials management.
• Undertake occasional site work and travel.
• Support management with operational and administrative tasks.
• Contribute to the development of the workshop team and processes.
