Job summary

Marks Sattin is recruiting a Senior External Reporting Manager in Leeds, offering a hybrid way of working with 2 days in the office. The role sits within a growing organisation undergoing finance function transformation and investment.

You will report to the Head of External Reporting and engage with senior stakeholders, auditors and external advisers on complex statutory reporting, governance and technical accounting matters.

Qualifications

• ACA qualification with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience in external reporting and statutory accounts.
• Experience working through the statutory audit process.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and IFRS experience.
• Experience dealing with complex transactions, projects or accounting judgements.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
• Experience collaborating with multiple finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Proactive mindset with interest in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting expertise across complex transactions and projects.
• Research and resolve technical accounting issues for auditors and governance.
• Support preparation of Group and local statutory financial statements.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors throughout audit cycle.
• Document significant accounting judgements and estimates.
• Manage recurring external stakeholder reporting with accuracy.
• Prepare ad-hoc analysis for senior stakeholders and external parties.
• Support Board and governance meetings with clear financial analysis.
• Contribute to development and improvement of reporting processes and controls.
