• Shape research strategies that drive decision-making and align with client needs.
• Provide mentoring and quality assurance to researchers across teams.
• Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders to prioritise research needs and embed evidence-based decisions.
• Communicate complex insights persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior leaders.
• Champion user-centred design principles across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive user research plans aligned with project goals and priorities.
• Design and carry out research to understand user needs across government services.
• Document insights with personas, journey maps, reports, and insight repositories.
• Champion research and ensure evidence informs policy, service and content design.
• Lead synthesis of insights to influence product and service direction at scale.
• Collaborate with HMRC craft communities, contributing best practices and frameworks.
