Job summary

Sonata Software seeks a highly experienced Exchange Customer Engineer in the United Kingdom to lead enterprise Exchange Online and hybrid environments. You will design, deploy, and support Exchange Hybrid configurations, DNS/mail routing, and security policies across large mail environments.

The role requires deep expertise in Exchange Server 2016/2019, Exchange Online, HCW, DAGs, and PowerShell, with strong English communication and customer-facing skills.

Qualifications

• 15-20 years of overall IT experience.
• Solid Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises experience.
• Proven experience with Exchange Hybrid environments.
• Active SC Security Clearance.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong customer-facing, technical writing, presentation and training skills.
• Experience working in enterprise/customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Exchange Server 2016/2019/SE and Exchange Online.
• Design, implement and maintain Exchange Hybrid environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot Hybrid Configuration Wizard (HCW), hybrid mail flow and secure mail routing.
• Manage DAG, mailbox databases, transport services, connectors, certificates and virtual directories.
• Troubleshoot mail flow, Autodiscover, Outlook connectivity, mailbox access and authentication issues.
• Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, shared/resource mailboxes, distribution groups and Microsoft 365 Groups.
• Configure mail flow rules, retention, archiving and compliance policies.
• Support Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and Defender for Office 365.
• Support Exchange migrations between On-Premises and Exchange Online.
• Manage SPF, DKIM and DMARC configurations.
• Use PowerShell/Exchange Management Shell for administration and automation.
