Talent Acquisition Executive at Hanson Wade

The Senior Event Manager – Event Delivery plays a pivotal role in driving the success of Hanson Wade’s events through commercial growth, team engagement and exceptional attendee experiences. They manage people, drive process improvements and oversee event planning of conferences in the Life Science, Construction and HR industries.

We are looking for a passionate leader, to foster a high-performance, collaborative culture, championing best practices and ensuring tasks, deadlines and budgets are managed efficiently.

We are looking for a proactive individual who possesses excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, drives innovation and encourages team engagement and development.

The applicant must work well under pressure and have the ability to prioritise responsibilities and drive improvements across people, processes and products.

Key Responsibilities:

People Management

  • Leadership & Team Development: Provide strong direction, set clear goals, and foster a high-performance, collaborative culture through coaching, feedback, and professional development.
  • Empowerment & Decision-Making: Encourage team autonomy, delegate tasks effectively, and support independent decision-making while ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Performance & Recognition: Conduct evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and recognize achievements to motivate and develop team members.
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Involvement in recruitment, scheduling and resourcing to ensure optimum team strength, skill and capacity.
  • Communication: Address team issues proactively, promoting open dialogue and collaboration to maintain a positive work environment.

Event Management

  • Event logistics: Oversee team event planning and execution, ensuring tasks, deadlines, and objectives are met while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Budget & Cost Management: Monitor event budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness, financial adherence, and maximum ROI.
  • Vendor & Logistics Coordination: Supervise relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring smooth execution of logistics with venues, catering, and audio visual.
  • Risk & Performance Management: Oversee risk mitigation, proactively addressing issues, and leveraging data-driven insights to support decision making and optimize event success.
  • Innovation & Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry advancements and implement innovative approaches to enhance event effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provide leadership, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure alignment with key stakeholders across departments.

Process Management

  • Process Optimization & SOPs: Develop, maintain, and refine SOPs to ensure efficiency, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
  • Workflow & Efficiency Improvements: Continuously evaluate and optimize department processes, implementing innovations to enhance productivity.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Ensure seamless coordination with marketing, sales, production, and tech for aligned efforts.
  • Documentation & Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate records, generate reports, and analyse KPIs to drive informed decision-making.
  • Training & Continuous Learning: Provide training opportunities and foster a culture of continuous improvement for professional growth.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must have higher education degree or similar (Event Management degree preferred)
  • 4+ years of event management experience, specifically within the conference and exhibition field
  • 2+ years of leadership/line management experience, specifically within the conference and exhibition field
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Must have outstanding communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Will be highly efficient and have an organised approach to task and people management
  • Will be able to adapt and change priorities according to immediate business needs
  • Will have the ability to work well under pressure and deal with high work volumes
  • Will be a strategic thinker with a creative mindset and a keen eye for process.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Europe & United Sates of America.
