Job summary

Powersystems UK Ltd in Bristol seeks a Senior Technical Estimator for renewable energy projects. You will develop accurate, commercially sound estimates for high-voltage infrastructure up to 400kV.

This full-time, hybrid role offers a salary of £60,000-£70,000 plus a discretionary bonus up to 25% and profit share, with benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Strong technical understanding of 33kV, 132kV and 400kV electrical infrastructure works.
• Experience producing technical estimates and tender submissions in electrical infrastructure up to 400kV.
• Ability to translate requirements and drawings into high-quality tender submissions.

Responsibilities

• Take complex HV project enquiries from initial assessment through tender submission and contract award.
• Assess specifications to establish technical, commercial and delivery requirements up to 400kV.
• Produce detailed cost estimates for HV electrical infrastructure for tendering.
• Participate in site visits, pre- and post-tender meetings and pre-contract discussions.
• Work with Procurement to review supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Coordinate with teams to develop accurate, deliverable estimates.
• Uphold Health, Safety and Wellbeing commitments and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Technical Estimator, you’ll help develop accurate, commercially sound and technically robust estimates for high-voltage renewable energy projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking complex high-voltage project enquiries through initial assessment, tender submission, negotiation and contract award
• Assessing specifications and project information to establish technical, commercial and delivery requirements for works up to 400kV
• Producing detailed cost estimates for high-voltage electrical infrastructure works to support Powersystems' tendering approach
• Participating in site visits, pre-and post-tender meetings and pre-contract discussions
• Working alongside the Procurement team to obtain, review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Coordinating with teams across the business to develop estimates that are accurate, practical and deliverable
• Upholding Powersystems' Priority No.1 commitment to Health, Safety and Wellbeing, alongside professionalism and continuous improvement

We’re looking for someone with:

• A strong technical understanding of 33kV, 132kV and 400kV electrical infrastructure works
• Demonstrated experience producing technical estimates and tender submissions in the electrical infrastructure sector, ideally up to 400kV
• A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• The ability to understand requirements, specifications and technical drawings and translate them into high-quality tender submissions
• The ability to develop strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues through consistently clear, professional communication
• A full UK driving licence
• The right to work in the UK
