Job summary

Powersystems UK Ltd is hiring a Cable Hand – Renewable Energy to join our on-site team in Bristol with UK-wide travel. You will support electricians and jointers on installations, including lighting, power systems, cabling and switchgear, and assist with LV/HV work using cables rigs, trailers and winches.

The role requires a current JIB/ECS card, a valid UK driving licence, and experience in commercial/industrial electrical installations.

Qualifications

• Experience of commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
• Valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support Site Supervisors, Electricians and Jointers on site.
• Assist with installation of lighting and power systems, cabling, and switchgear.
• Carry out LV and HV cable installations using cable rigs, trailers and winches.
• Undertake earthing works where required.
• Support HV teams on major site installations and fault investigations.
• Maintain safe working practices and represent Powersystems professionally.

In this Cable Hand role, you will:

• Support Site Supervisors, Electricians and Jointers in carrying out electrical installation work on site
• Assist with the installation of lighting and power systems, cable trays and ladders, cabling and switchgear
• Carry out LV and HV cable installations using cable rigs, trailers and winches
• Undertake earthing works where required
• Support HV teams on major site installations, fault investigations and breakdown response
• Maintain safe working practices, care for company equipment and represent Powersystems professionally
• Uphold Powersystems’ Priority No.1 commitment to Health, Safety and Wellbeing, while supporting high standards and continual improvement

What You’ll Bring

• A current JIB-approved ECS card
• A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
• Experience of commercial and industrial electrical installations
• The ability to work on your own initiative and effectively as part of a team
• Experience in the electrical power sector would be advantageous
• Good communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, flexible approach
