Job summary

Deanston Cooper’s client, a respected steel fabrication company, is seeking a Senior Estimator based in South Lanarkshire to lead the estimating function from enquiry through to completion.

You will review drawings, prepare cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and related works, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors while building strong relationships with clients and contractors across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience as Estimator
• Significant experience in structural steel fabrication
• Excellent reading of drawings and specifications
• Commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the tendering process from enquiry to submission
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for structural steel fabrication
• Source and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Assess project risks and commercial opportunities
• Mentor and support junior estimators
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships
