Job summary

PSR Solutions seeks a Freelance Intermediate or Senior Estimator (Structural Alterations) for immediate engagement. The role focuses on pricing from first principles for structural alterations, cut & carve, basement and temporary works, with take-offs from drawings.

Hybrid working available; outside IR35; requires 10+ years’ on-site/delivery experience with estimating and strong IT/software skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required.
• 10+ years' experience on-site or delivery role with Estimating experience on Structural Alterations projects.
• Experience pricing from 1st principles and taking off quantities from drawings.

Responsibilities

• Price works from first principles, including structural alterations, basement and temporary works.
• Build up project cost, understand resources and outputs.
• Liaise with internal and external customers; manage risk.

Job description

Our client is a leading Structural Alterations specialist contractor.

They currently have an immediate requirement for a Freelance Intermediate or Senior Estimator with experience of pricing Structural Alterations, Cut & Carve, Basement and Temporary Works from 1st Principles.

Freelance Estimator / Senior Estimator (Structural Alterations) Requirements:

• Engineering background and degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or similar qualification and relevant experience
• 10+ years' experience as an Engineer on site &/or a delivery role with Estimating experience working on Structural Alterations projects.
• Demonstratable experience in pricing works from 1st principles is essential, and able take off quantities from drawings.
• Understanding of engineering resources, their costs and outputs and how these translate to the overall project cost.
• Knowledge of risk management procedures and how these impact on cost estimates.
• Ability to build up project programme and sequencing.
• Conversant with different types of Estimating Software and generally strong IT Skills.
• Awareness of current construction technologies and methods, and how these impact on outputs and costs.
• Commercial acumen and contractual awareness.
• Ability to liaise with internal and external customers
