Job summary

PSR Solutions seeks a Freelance Senior Estimator for heavy civils, concrete and structures packages in the railway sector. You will price from first principles, take-off quantities from drawings and manage cost implications across resources, risks and programme.

The role offers hybrid working and an immediate start on long-term civil engineering projects with an established contractor in the rail sector.

Qualifications

• Engineering background and degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or similar qualification and relevant experience.
• 10+ years' experience as an Engineer on site or a delivery role with Estimating experience working on civils and structures projects within the railway sector.
• Demonstratable experience in pricing works from 1st principles is essential, and able take off quantities from drawings.
• Understanding of engineering resources, their costs and outputs and how these translate to the overall project cost.
• Knowledge of risk management procedures and how these impact on cost estimates.
• Ability to build up project programme and sequencing.
• Conversant with different types of Estimating Software and generally strong IT Skills.
• Awareness of current construction technologies and methods, and how these impact on outputs and costs.
• Commercial acumen and contractual awareness.
• Ability to liaise with internal and external customers

Our client is a leading civil engineering, infrastructure and structures contractor.

They currently have an immediate requirement for a Freelance Senior Estimator with experience of pricing heavy civils, concrete and structures packages from 1st Principles within the railway sector.

Freelance Senior Estimator (Rail & Civils) requirements:
