PSR Solutions is seeking a Freelance Senior Estimator for Rail & Civils with extensive first principles pricing experience. The role targets pricing heavy civils, concrete and structures packages within the railway sector, requiring a strong engineering background and on-site delivery exposure.

The successful candidate will quantify from drawings, manage risk, assemble programmes, and interface with clients and contractors. Hybrid working and an Outside IR35 contract are noted as key benefits.

Qualifications

• Engineering background and degree qualification in a relevant Engineering or similar qualification.
• 10+ years' experience as an Engineer on site / delivery role with Estimating experience on civils and structures projects within the railway sector.
• Demonstratable experience in pricing works from 1st principles, and able to take off quantities from drawings.
• Understanding of engineering resources, their costs and outputs and how these translate to the overall project cost.
• Knowledge of risk management procedures and how these impact on cost estimates.
• Ability to build up project programme and sequencing.
• Conversant with different types of Estimating Software and generally strong IT Skills.
• Awareness of current construction technologies and methods, and how these impact on outputs and costs.
• Commercial acumen and contractual awareness.
• Ability to liaise with internal and external customers

Our client is a leading civil engineering, infrastructure and structures contractor.

They currently have an immediate requirement for a Freelance Senior Estimator with experience of pricing heavy civils, concrete and structures packages from 1st Principles within the railway sector.

Freelance Senior Estimator (Rail & Civils) requirements:

• Engineering background and degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or similar qualification and relevant experience
