Job summary

Estimator role in civil engineering and construction in Fife, working with a Managing Director who shapes growth and tender strategy. You will take ownership of the estimating function, influence bid positioning and coach junior colleagues to build a robust team for the future.

Qualifications

Proven estimating experience within civil engineering, construction or related contracting environment.
Strong commercial judgement with ability to identify tender risks and opportunities.
Experience of programming, scheduling and resource planning within the tender process.
Proactive, ambitious approach with ownership of a key function.
Ability to coach and develop less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of the estimating function and work with the MD on live opportunities.
Lead tender reviews, identify risks and price submissions to be competitive.
Prepare programme elements of estimates including resources and durations.
Review contracts and ensure smooth handover from pre-construction to operations.
Support business strategy and growth with senior leadership.
Coach junior team members and build estimating capability.
Utilise industry-standard estimating and programming software for bids.
