Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc seeks a Senior Estimator to lead pricing for major projects in the SZC framework. You will develop estimates from first principles, review designs, and challenge options while mentoring junior estimators.

You will work closely with the estimating lead and project teams, ensuring consistent pricing approaches and robust risk-based costings across disciplines. Hybrid working with strong client liaison is offered.

Qualifications

• Infrastructure main contractor background in civil engineering.
• Commercial or operational background.
• Experience with estimating in SZC or similar projects.

Responsibilities

• Undertake estimates in accordance with SZC policies and procedures.
• Review SZC drawings and specifications to prepare costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment.
• Oversee design options and value solutions, identify project attractiveness by estimating principles.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Record assumptions, risks and opportunities and support risk evaluation from pricing/budget perspective.
• Liaise with project team & supply chain to develop methodologies and principles.
