Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in Bridgwater and Bristol is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to support a major nuclear infrastructure programme. You will develop robust, commercially competitive tender submissions for complex mechanical building services packages, working within a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within Building Services, M&E or MEP contracting.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating and cooling systems, pipework and mechanical plant.
• Experience preparing estimates for complex construction, engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as nuclear/energy is advantageous.
• Relevant engineering qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical building services packages.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Undertake detailed quantity take-offs and pricing exercises.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering proposals.
• Develop tender clarifications, assumptions and exclusions.
• Support tender review and governance processes.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to develop winning bids.
• Maintain accurate estimating and tender records throughout the bid lifecycle.
