Job summary

Sunblink is seeking an Estimator or Senior Estimator to join its Housing Division, focusing on pricing and tendering for housing projects in the piling and foundations sector. The role involves reviewing drawings, preparing cost breakdowns, obtaining supplier quotes, and ensuring bids meet deadlines. Senior level offers greater ownership of the tender process. This is a challenging role for professionals with strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

Candidates should have estimating experience within piling, foundations, ground engineering or construction.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
Experience managing tenders and ownership of estimating activities at Senior level.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and tender submissions.
Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Undertake quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost breakdowns.
Obtain, review and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost savings.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Ensure tenders are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.
Support the development of commercially competitive bids.
For Senior Estimator level, there will be scope for greater ownership of the tendering process and providing wider commercial input.
