Job summary

Checkmate Fire Solutions Ltd is seeking a commercially driven Estimator to join our team in Harlow, Essex. You will prepare detailed estimates for passive fire protection projects, lead tender pricing, and work closely with clients, suppliers and operations to secure profitable work.

You will develop pricing strategies, attend site visits and support the handover from estimating to delivery, while identifying opportunities to improve processes in a growing team.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in construction estimating and project costing.
• Excellent commercial awareness and numerical/analytical skills.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience within passive fire protection, fire stopping or fire doors would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of construction standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commercially minded, proactive and team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for passive fire protection projects.
• Lead pricing for tenders and large-scale bids.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and operational teams.
• Develop competitive pricing strategies, rate schedules and cost models.
• Attend site visits, surveys and pre-contract meetings.
• Support handover of projects from estimating to delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating and commercial processes.
