Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00hrs – 17:00hrs)

Start: Immediate (willing to wait for notice)

Contract: Permanent / Full-Time

Location: East London - (Hybrid) 1 day WFH - with some travel to sites

? Culture Guru is working with a highly respected construction and refurbishment contractor in East London to find a Senior Estimator to join their growing Pre-Construction team.

? This role is perfect for someone who thrives on detail, works well under pressure, and knows how to balance commercial rigour with practical build insight.

? You’ll play a key role in pricing projects accurately and representing the company with professionalism and clarity from the very first interaction.

? Responsibilities of the role, but not limited to;

  • Lead the preparation and timely submission of compliant tenders, cost plans, and quotations.
  • Review drawings and carry out precise take-offs to inform accurate pricing.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure quotes aligned with project requirements.
  • Ensure all supporting documentation – commercial, contractual, and administrative – is ready for submission.

? Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaise closely with internal teams – from commercial to operational and admin – to ensure clarity and accuracy in tender submissions.
  • Attend internal handover meetings to transition successful bids into delivery smoothly.
  • Represent the company at pre-start client meetings and interviews when required.

? Process & Reporting

  • Produce relevant reports and analysis to support tender outcomes.
  • Work in accordance with internal policies and procedures, maintaining standards of quality and compliance throughout.
  • Support a collaborative and professional approach across all departments involved in the tendering process.

? Desirable attributes of the successful candidate

  • Holds a valid UK driving licence and DBS (or willing to obtain one)
  • Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills
  • Confident in Microsoft Office and tech-savvy with estimating/reporting tools
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
  • Presents well and maintains professional standards across all touchpoints
  • Commercially Sharp: You have a strong understanding of pricing construction or refurbishment projects and can meet profit targets without compromising quality.
  • Detail-Oriented: You’re meticulous in your work, double-check your own outputs, and thrive on producing accurate and well-presented tenders.
  • Client-Facing: You represent the company with professionalism and care, building trust with clients and external partners from day one.
  • Technically Confident: You can interpret technical drawings, contracts, and specs, and translate them into reliable costings.
  • Adaptable & Accountable: Comfortable travelling when needed, hitting tight deadlines, and taking ownership of your performance.
  • Well-Rounded Professional: A great team player with strong people skills, excellent communication, and a proactive attitude.
